Products I Have Been Lovin'

Now, I just need to begin by saying that none of the companies that are mentioned in this blog post are paying me nor asking me to review their product(s). All opinions are my own and may not relate to everyone, e.g. A product that may work extremely well for me, my skin tone hair etc; may not work as well on others... Just thought I would get that out there before I receive any complaints!

Lately, I have been purchasing quite a few products in an attempt to 'Beautify' myself. Now some have worked really well and I have been highly impressed with and some not so much, but in this blog I will be somewhat forcing my opinion onto yourselves about products that I have, in effect, fallen in love with!

From Left to Right: Tresemme- Split Remedy; Barry M- Guava Gelly Hi Shine Nail Polish; Garnier -Summer Body; Olay- Everyday Sunshine Moisturiser; Batiste - Dry Shampoo; Avon - Morroccan Argan Oil.

GARNIER SUMMER BODY MOISTURISING LOTION:
9/10

This is single handedly the best Gradual Tanning lotion that I have ever used and trust me, I have tried so so many of them! At first, the scent of the lotion is quite overpowering, but once absorbed into your skin, the high intensity fragrance quickly fades, leaving your body smelling slightly fragrant and somewhat refreshed from the apricot scent, which, I find is really pleasant! The packaging looks really quite nice and is overall quite an attractive product upon my shelf.

As you can see, the inside product is of a creamy white consistency and is, what I find to be, slightly too runny for my liking, although this may be one of the reason why it absorbs into your skin so quickly! A quick word of warning, use this sparingly! I cannot stress this enough! Although it may not instantly give you a 'Golden glow' leave it a couple of hours and you will most definitely be slightly, if not a couple of shade darker. After applying this for 3 consecutive days, I had achieved a similar looking tan to what would have taken me several hours in direct sunlight! This really is a great product which i would highly recommend if you are looking to darken your skin-tone, However, I have only rated it 9/10 for the simple fact that, if it is not apply evenly upon your skin or if you have particular areas in which your skin has become quite dry (I found this to be on my knee's, elbow's and 'ankle area') It is likely to result in quite a streaky looking tan, which isn't ideal, but apart from that, if the product is used correctly, you should achieve a great looking tan, that I know for me, gave me a lot more confidence to bear a bit more skin!

Tresemme Split Remedy Leave in Treatment
8/10
Now I personally really have been liking this product quite a bit recently as due to this humid summer weather that we are currently experiencing here in England, my hair (especially the ends) has become really quite dry and damaged. This product really wasn't that expensive and can be found in pretty much any supermarket or drugstore at the moment. Tesco's has currently marked a great deal of the Tresemme Split Remedy range as half price, this particular one included, So it would be really worth while to snap some up whilst stocks still last.

As you can see, the product has a thick creamy white consistency with a really nice scent to it. It says to apply 1 to 2 pumps to damp hair, focusing mostly on the ends then away you go! It is a really quick process with amazing results! After 3 or 4 days of using this, I found my hair to be looking considerably more healthier with a hint of shine (Which for my hair is unheard of). However, this product states that it is specifically for mending split ends and although it made the general condition of my hair look a LOT better, It hasn't seemed to have made any difference to the split ends... But I have never really understood how a hair treatment would be able to repair hair that has already physically Snapped/Split in half...

Has anyone come across a Split End Treatment which actually repairs the splits??

OLAY Everyday Sunshine Moisturiser
7/10
Now this product is a very recent addition to the beauty market, with Olay only releasing it last month and after coming across it whilst on the weekly shop with the parents, I decided I would test it out as at around £5 it wasn't going to exactly break the bank. Now with most gradual tanners and just Tanning lotions in general, I was a bit apprehensive as to whether this product would have the typical 'Fake tan smell' which everybody knows and hates! However upon applying it, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it only contained a light fragrance similar to what you would find in any ordinary moisturiser. The results didn't happen overnight and took a good few days of religiously applying day and night to create any kind of difference in skin colour, However, the colour that I achieved looked very natural and almost 'Sun-Kissed' which was exactly what I was after and the colour change wasn't too drastic so that I had a different toned face to the rest of my body. I would have rated this product higher if it wasn't for the fact that very quickly the natural pigmentation that is achieved, fades and you end up back to your original shade within 2 days

Batiste Dry Shampoo with hints of Dark, Deep Brown
8/10

Although this product has been on the market for quick sometime, It is still one of my favourite products which I just can't live without. Being a sixth form student means that I am bombarded with endless amounts of work and deadlines that mean that I am left with very little to time to do anything else, this and the early mornings means that I often don't have enough time to wash my hair as often as I should . Well, this is where this little gem comes in! I used to use the Batiste Original Dry Shampoo but found it somewhat infuriating when I ended up looking as though I had chronic dandruff! This version however includes hints of brown, which for me is perfect! It completely eliminates any evidence of grease and seems to stay that way for a good day or so. Although, I have only given a rating of 8/10 as whilst using this product, I would advise that you should steer well clear of touching your hair or indeed wearing white clothing, as I found that the colour is easily transferred onto anything in which it comes into contact with! I was unfortunate to realise this only after the colour had transferred onto a white summer dress that I had been wearing... Apart from that, this product is highly useful and even if you are not a brunette, Batiste offer a whole range of different colours and scents to suit your individual needs!

Avon Moroccan Argan Oil
10/10
Unless you have been living under a rock for the past couple of months or so, you will know that Moroccan Oil (or otherwise known as Argan Oil) is the latest craze and one that beauty bloggers everywhere having been endlessly raving about! Now, I am assuming that Argan Oil is, well, Argan Oil oblivious to which brand you purchase it from... Am I right? If so, I can guarantee that any Argan Oil treatment that you pick up, will instantly become your new best friend. I had been very VERY eager to try out this product to see what the hype was all about and my god, It didn't fail to live up to its enormously high expectation! I have never come across a product that succeeds in making my hair feel how soft, hydrated and healthier all in one bottle and for such a tiny price tag as well! I picked up several of these little beauties for only £3 each on the Avon Catalogue this month and wish I had picked up some more!
It is exactly what you would expect from any sort of oil; fairly runny, greasy texture and the smell, well, lets just say it leaves a lot to be desired... However, don't let that put you off! It says to 'Apply to damp/wet hair and leave in.' It is super easy to apply and results become evident in next to no time. The only advice I can give you is not to get too 'Pump happy', the first time I used this I (Rather stupidly) ignored the directions and applied 6 to 7 pumps, which as you can imagine, made my hair thick with grease and so I was made to re-wash it, However, after following the instructions the next day, by only using 1 or 2 pumps, my hair was by no means even slightly greasy and after a week of usage, I was already receiving compliments on how healthy and voluminous my hair was looking, which is always nice!

Barry M HI Gelly Nail Polish - GUAVA
8/10
After hearing mixed reviews about this product I wasn't  expecting it to be 'fant-az-ee-dobe' but after purchasing it with the points that I had acquired upon my Superdrug 'BeautyCard', I actually really quite like it! When looking at the Barry M products, this colour especially, was the one that stood out to me the most, I mean, come on, it can't just be me that absolutely adores this colour...?

I have never really been a Nail Varnish enthusiast, so apart from a couple of clear/nudish nail products, this is the only Nail Varnish that I own, meaning that I wouldn't know if this was to be considered as a 'good nail varnish' in the grand scheme of things. However, once applied this product did seem to last a good 3 to 4 days before any kind of chipping became apparent. It was also incredibly easy to apply and took hardly any time at all to dry, So all in all, I found to be a really good product and one I am likely to re-use throughout the rest of the Summer!

Right, so I didn't plan to make this blogpost so long, in-fact I was actually planning to make it fairly short and sweet but I should have known better really, as once I get started on something, 9 times out of 10, I will tend to ramble on and on, So apologies there!

Let me know what you thought in the comments below and if you have had a good/bad experience with any of the products I have mentioned!

Emma :-)
